8/12/25: "Nowhere To Go," by Cape Disappointment
Cape Disappointment is the moniker for Seattle-based songwriter, Jeffrey P. Martin. He writes “raw, honest, stripped-down” songs about places, loss, love, and life. He’s been playing all over the country for more than a decade. Everywhere from New York to Seattle. He is releasing a new song on the 12th of every month this year, and his song for today is called “Nowhere To Go”
All I want is to just get lost
Leaving’s just too hard I’ll get a job
It should feel like a sense of accomplishment
Instead, I feel like I am stuck
with nowhere to go
I don’t want to leave
With nowhere to go
I just want to drive
had the same job for a decade
had the same apartment for five years
Even though I’ll want to start again
Get into the car and just drive
go ahead and open the door
get in and make sure you’re secure
start the car and put into drive
press the gas until it hits the floor
